Fire service called to large grass fire, Lifeboat Road, Formby near Southport

Fire crews were called to a large grass fire in the dunes near to a caravan park at Lifeboat Road, Formby yesterday.

Crews were on scene at 6.57pm with four fire engines in attendance.

Crews arrived to find a large grass fire around 80 metres by 40 metres and began to tackle the fire using beaters  

Crews have made good progress and the main body of fire has been extinguished as at 7.40pm. Crews are now checking the area for any remaining hot spots.
