Foot Patrol Across Southport Town Centre Secures Public Engagement

Yesterday (Wednesday 17th), Constable Paul and PCSO Michelle were out on foot patrol as part of the Safer Streets Summer operation. They conducted foot patrol across Southport town centre and got members of the public to complete 12 of the Southport Town Centre QR code surveys. They spoke with numerous members of the public who approached them with various enquiries. They visited many of the jewellers shops and handed out some leaflets regarding courier fraud.
They popped into a few other businesses including Morrisons regarding some ongoing anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues and met with outreach workers from Light For Life regarding ongoing issues of the homeless in Southport town centre.
They attended Scarisbrick Hotel and Café Nero for CCTV enquiries regarding some recent town centre business burglaries. A suspect for these matters was arrested earlier in the week and was in custody, so they were assisting to speed up the investigation process.
After spending most of the shift in Southport town centre they then went up to Formby village, where they spoke with security at Waitrose, who have been experiencing afternoon thefts.
Looking at the two photographs, it's hard to believe they were taken on the same day!
