Former Sefton Mayor Handed 9-Month Sentence for Indecent Images
At Liverpool Magistrate Courts today former Sefton Mayor and Councillor Paul Tweed was sentenced to 9 months for posessing indecent images suspended for 18 months. He will be registered as a sex offender for 12 months and ordered to take a series of psychiatric sessions.
A total of 160 images were found on his media including
80 class A indecent images of children
41 class B indecent images of children
39 other indcent images
Tweed pleased guilty in September at Wirral Magistrates Court to three counts of making indecent photographs of children at his home between September 2020 and May 2024.
Today he pleaded guilty to an additional charge of possessing extreme pornographic image / images portraying an act of intercourse / oral sex with a dead / alive animal.
