Former Southport Champion reporter scoops Soap Of The year Award

Southport journalist Martin Hovden writes: I'm delighted to report that Jane Hudson (pictured), executive producer of Emmerdale, won the Soap Of  The Year Award at the Soap Awards on Saturday on ITV.

Southport residents may remember Jane was a reporter on The Southport Champion when I was editor. A very talented young lady.

My lasting memory is when I popped out of The Champion office in Lord Street for a smoke and she often joined me for a chat about...relationships and life.

Well done, Jane, we're so proud of you.
