Guiseley v Southport Preview. A win could see the Port climb into a play off spot
Southport travel over The Pennines on Tuesday evening for a trip to Guiseley.
It is the first of five away games on the road which will see over 1000 miles travelled before we next play at Haig Avenue.
The forecast isn’t good so it will be worth keeping an eye out for any weather issues during the day.
Guiseley are sitting in 20th place in the table and suffered a 1-0 home defeat to York on Saturday in front of a season’s best gate of 1376. The current average is 768. Guiseley have beaten Gloucester and Leamington at home and had a great 1-0 away win at Chester on their travels in the last away game.
Southport go into the game full of confidence and on a fine run. A win could push The Sandgrounders as high as 7th which was unthinkable when sitting in 22nd place as recently as October 9th.
Liam will be taking stock of his players after a gruelling game on Saturday played out in dreadful conditions but as we have seen, he has a strong squad at his disposal this season and everyone who has come in has performed well.
Kick Off is 7.45pm. Tickets for can be purchased online in advance here, tickets will also be on sale on the night at the turnstiles with payment by cash only, it is also cash payments only inside the ground for programmes, food and drink and 50/50 cash draw tickets.
