Important Information for Southport and Sefton residents from Sefton Council

Restricted services will be in place during Christmas and New Year as most Sefton Council staff take unpaid leave as part of continuous cost-saving measures. Most council buildings will be closed  for the full week commencing 27th December 2021. They will also be closed on the bank holiday on Monday 3rd January 2022.

Many services will not operate as most council buildings will be closed.

Residents can still access a range of information and transactions via the council website (www.sefton.gov.uk) including checking bin collections, applying for licenses, reporting environmental issues or paying council tax and business rates.

Services that will continue to operate include critical social care services for adults and children, a limited street cleaning service, registrars, domestic and commercial waste collections and urgent highways issues, including gritting.

An automated phone service on 0345 140 0845 which details helpful emergency points on contact will be in place from 24th December 2021 for 3rd January 2022.
