Kids go free during teacher strikes
WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is welcoming families to enjoy a full day of wetland adventures and meet wetland stars such as adorable otters, flamboyant flamingos and some of the world’s most eye-catching ducks, geese and swans with kids aged up to 17 entering for free. The free entry coincides with the planned teacher strikes on Wednesday 5 and Friday 7 July.
Victoria Fellowes, Visitor Experience Manager, said: "Martin Mere offers a fun and educational day out for families. Visitors can explore our wetlands and learn all about the species that call wetlands home. We are pleased to be inviting kids to enter for free so that they can keep learning outside of the classroom whilst enjoying the great outdoors."
Additionally, families can discover giant LEGO® sculptures that have been exclusively designed for WWT. The sculptures showcase beautiful wetland animals, including a large North American river otter, Hawaiian goose, kingfisher, frog, water vole and more. Over 250,000 LEGO® bricks were used to make the wetland characters, which took over 1,500 hours to make!
Free tickets will be available at the centre with no pre-booking required - just show up at the centre on the day. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. One adult ticket costs £15.40 (£16.95 with gift aid).
