Lancashire Police stopping vehicles on the outskirts of Southport in crime crackdown
Over the last two days you may have seen a large police presence stopping and checking vehicles at roadside check sites.
This operation was run by South Rural Task Force, assisted by our friends at Stolen Vehicle Identification Unit as part of our #NoBorders campaign to combat the theft of plant machinery, agricultural machines, 4x4s and vans.
To date we have seized and repatriated Lancashire residents with around 1.5Million pounds worth of stolen property.
During this operation we have stopped 108 vehicles, 10 trailers, 3 tractors, 2 quadbikes, 2 dumpers, 4 excavators, we dealt with 10 offences seized 2 stolen vehicles including 1 very well cloned stolen camper van. Each person stopped was issued a letter as attached.
