Land Rover Defender rescued from Birkdale beach in Southport

Rescue

A Land Rover Defender had to be rescued from the beach at Weld Road in Southport early this afternoon. The driver of the vehicle ignored the no vehicles on this part of the beach sign and drove down the track that the shrimpers use.

After a couple of hundred yards the vehicle became stuck in the mud.

Relatives of the driver a young man in his 20's asked a man who was working in Victoria Park with a tractor if he would rescue the stranded vehicle.

The man obliged and the Land Rover was rescued.

Asked why he drove out onto the beach the young man said that he wanted to take his Puppy dogs for a walk away from people.

He won't do it again!
