Liverpool man charged with robbery at Southport Jewellers on Lord Street

A man has been charged following a report of a burglary in Southport on Monday (21 March)

At around 9pm officers were called to a report of a burglary at Rebecca’s Jewellers on Lord Street.

A group of males on motorbikes had forced entry into the premises and stole a large quantity of jewellery from the building.

Steven Mallon, 43 years, of Briarwood Road, Liverpool was arrested and later charged with burglary and possession of a bladed article in public.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 23 March).
