Local knife surrender bins prove successful as 200 weapons recovered

The results are in…. 
Over 200   knives have been recovered across South Division during #OpSceptre, a national crackdown on knife crime.

During the intensive week of action, officers from across the division, which covers the areas of Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire, carried out a range of activity, including:weapon sweeps
Test purchases conducted at  retailers.
  Educational schools inputs
  Leaflet drops
  search warrants
  Numerous stop searches
The five surrender bins across South Division were emptied and 200 knives were recovered. Weapons included machetes, cleavers and a dagger
