Loyalty, Charity and Culture: The Triple Treats of Lancashire Day
Lancashire Day is on Monday, November 27.
It is an opportunity to show loyalty to our red rose county and a chance to raise money for charity, remember a much-loved Lancastrian and for businesses to promote Lancashire produce by planning an event on the day or during that week.
Events usually include Lancashire Day Proclamations, Lancashire nights with traditional hot pot or nibbles and entertainment, lunches, afternoon teas, shops with Lancashire produce, restaurants with a special menu, exhibitions, heritage walks, quiz nights, and reading of Lancashire dialect.
Lancashire has five cities Lancaster, Preston, Liverpool, Salford and Manchester and if you were born between the river Duddon in the North and the river Mersey in the South you are first and foremost a Lancastrian - no legislation has ever changed the traditional historic county boundaries.
