Major disruption to trains on the Southport and other Northern Lines this morning

Due to power supply issues in the Sandhills area, all Northern line services are currently disrupted.

Southport services will start and terminate at Bank Hall. A rail replacement bus service is in place between Moorfields and Bank Hall. 

Hunts Cross services will start and terminate at Liverpool Central (limited service).

Ormskirk services start and terminate at Walton. A limited rail replacement bus service is in operation between Moorfields and Walton. 

Kirkby services start and terminate at Rice Lane. A limited rail replacement bus service is in operation between Moorfields and Walton (please change here for Rice Lane). 

Passengers are advised to use Wirral Line services or walk for travel around Liverpool City Centre. 

Disruption is expected to last until 9.00 am
