Major Police incident Shakespeare Street Southport Updated

Merseyside Police are attending a major incident in Shakespeare Street Southport. Eight police vehicles along with an ambulance and two private ambulances are on scene.

Officers with riot shields and helmets have gone down a passageway next to the barbers shop. Police have just cordoned off the road to traffic.

We can confirm that emergency services are on Shakespeare Street in Southport this afternoon (Saturday 25 February).

At around 3pm officers attended an address on Shakespeare Street to arrest a male following a breach of a non-molestation order.

A scene is in place in the area as a precaution whilst officers engage with the male inside the house and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
