Man airlifted to Hospital after accident in Forest Road in Southport

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 11.50am today (Tuesday 1 March) emergency services were called to a report of a man who came off his motorbike on Forest Road in Southport.

A man in his 20s is being taken to hospital by air ambulance with a serious leg injury.

"It is believed no other vehicle was involved in the incident.

"Forest Road was closed while emergency services attended the incident.

"We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
