Man Arrested and Charged Following Serious Assault in Formby

Today (Monday 9 March) a man has been arrested and another man charged following a serious assault in Formby at the weekend.

At around 11.20pm on Saturday 7 March, officers were called to reports of an assault on Three Tuns Lane.

A man in his 30s was found with injuries to the head and body and was taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment. He is in a serious but stable condition.

A second man in his 30s was found with minor injuries and has been discharged from hospital.

Following enquiries a man was arrested yesterday (Sunday) and has been charged today in connection with the incident.

Shea Dumbell, 18 years, of Salisbury Street in Everton, has been charged with violent disorder. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Adult Remand Court today (Monday).

Officers carried out further enquiries, and an 18-year-old man from Everton has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and affray. He is in police custody to be questioned.
