Man arrested for animal cruelty by Southport and Lancashire Police

Southport Neighbourhood Police Officers have today assisted Lancs County South Rural Task Force today, in the arrest of a man who had travelled from Wales to Rural West Lancashire, equipped with an offensive weapon to hunt.

The man was also arrested for animal cruelty, regarding a dog being used for the hunting. The dog and the vehicle used by the man were seized by the Lancashire Officers.

The Wildlife Officer based at Southport is in regular contact with colleagues in the Rural West Lancs Task Force and cross boarder operations such as this are a regular occurrence.
