Man arrested on Shakespeare St in Southport on suspicion of affray and having an offensive weapon

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Bootle on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Officers were called to Shakespeare Street in Southport last night at just before 8.55pm following reports of a disturbance.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

The man remains in custody.
