Whilst out on patrol in January 2022, officers from the South Rural Task Force have requested a Volkswagen Golf to stop on Southport New Road in Banks after the occupants were acting suspiciously.
Following a search of the vehicle under Section 23 misuse of drugs act, cannabis and a number of snap bags were located and seized and a man was arrested.

A further search of a nearby address found several bucket loads of cannabis, deal bags and scales.
Yesterday, at Preston Crown Court, James Lawson, 24, of Hesketh Green, Rufford pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a class B drug. He was given a six-month prison sentence suspended for 12 month.
PC Sean Dalby from the South Rural Task Force said: “We are committed to protecting our rural communities against the issues that impact them and will be relentless in our pursuit of rural offenders, whatever the crime is.”
