Man hit by van on Preston New Road in Southport this morning

A man was hit by a van on Preston New Road in Southport this morning 29th November.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm we were called out to a report of a road traffic collision involving a van and a pedestrian in Southport earlier this morning, Tuesday, November 29.

"At around 7.40am we received a report that a van was involved in a collision with a man in his 40s on Preston New Road. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with a head injury and the driver stopped at the scene."
