Man Hospitalized after Brutal Attack on West Street in Southport: Suspects Arrested
Three people arrested following serious assault in Southport
Merseyside Police have arrested three people following an assault in Southport on Saturday 3 February.
At around 5.20am, it was reported that a man aged in his 30s had been punched to the face and then kicked on the ground on West Street.
Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Following enquiries, a 25-year-old man from Bury, a 37-year-old man from Liverpool and a 22-year-old woman from Liverpool were all arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. They have all been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Edward Barr said: “This was a vicious assault that has left a man with a serious head injury and he remains in hospital.
“Such violence has no place on the streets of Southport, or anywhere in Merseyside, and our investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of this incident.
“Although we have made three arrests, our enquiries are ongoing so if you have any information please get in touch.
