Man in his 50s sadly dies after being hit by train in Freshfield. Police statement

British Transport Police officers and paramedics were called to the line near Freshfield railway station in Formby at around 12.10pm today, January 15th 2024, following reports of a casualty on the tracks. The person, a man in his 50s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
