Man pushed onto tracks at Merseyrail Station

An investigation has been launched after a man was pushed onto the tracks at the underground at Liverpool Lime Street and officers have released this image in connection.
On Tuesday 7 October at just after 5pm a man was with two friends at the underground platform for the Wirral line at Liverpool Lime Street. As they have walked down the platform an unknown male has pushed the victim onto the track. Officers responded and the man had been helped off the tracks by members of the public. The victim has been taken to hospital and thankfully at this time there is no information to suggest any serious injury.
Officers are carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries and are working to identify and locate a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident. This man left the station before officers arrived on scene.
Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.
