Man stabbed on the Liverpool to Southport Merseyrail line

Detectives investigating a report of a serious assault at Blundellsands and Crosby railway station are today releasing this image in connection.

At around 1.40pm on Friday 2 August, the victim was approached by a man on board a Merseyrail train between Liverpool and Blundell and Crosby railway station and there was a verbal altercation. The victim then left and moved down the carriage.

Approximately ten minutes later at 1.50pm, the man and the victim left the service at Blundellsands and Crosby railway station. The man approached the victim again and attempted to stab him, causing a minor injury to the victim’s hand.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help their investigation.
