Man who threw slates from a roof in Southport yesterday sectioned under the Mental Health Act

A man who threw slates from the roof of a house in Sefton Street, Southport has been sectioned under the Mental Health.

Police said..

We can confirm officers attended a report of concern for the safety of a man in his 50s who was on top of scaffolding in Southport.

Officers attended Sefton Street at around 9.30am and put a containment on the building as a precaution while officers engaged with the man.

He came down at around 12.30pm and was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
