Marine Drive in Southport now closed for 12 weeks

The Marine Drive in Southport is now closed to traffic from the Plough roundabout to Marshside Road in both directions for resurfacing works. Access is still possible to get to the RSPB car park.

The road had  become dangerous with large dips in the surface meaning the speed limit was reduced to 30mph on a section for safety reasons.

Closure is expected to last for 12 weeks. Local diversions are in operation.
