Marine Drive Southport still closed after Tuesdays accident

The Marine Drive in Southport is still closed today after a lorry hit the underside of the Pier  yesterday. Closures are in place from the Pier to the roundabout by the entrance to the beach.

Local diversions are in operation with large queues on the Marine Way Bridge and the Promenade.

As of 09.30 today there was no work going on to fix the damage to the Pier.

The owners of the Cafe at the end have said that they will open.
