Merseyside Police and Scientific Support at a property in Birkdale Village, Southport

Officers from Merseyside Police and the Merseyside Police scientific support unit have been at a property in Birkdale Village for over 24 hours. The property is at the rear of David Pluck bookmakers on the corner of Alma Raod and Liverpool Road.

When asked the officers at the scene were giving nothing away. The bookmakers remains open.

The police press office has been approached for comment.
