Merseyside Police.Thank you to members of public who turned out for LFC homecoming parade
Following the Liverpool Football Club victory parade through the city ,Sunday 29th May, Assistant Chief Constable Chris Green said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the thousands of people who lined the streets of Liverpool today to welcome home the Liverpool team.
“This was a wonderful opportunity to show the world what a great place Liverpool is and how passionate the people of Liverpool are about their football teams and their city.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and it was great to see so many people, young and old, lining the nine miles of the parade route.
“Over the past two days Liverpool has hosted tens of thousands of people, both to watch last night’s game and today’s parade, and I am pleased that only a small number of incidents have been reported during that time. The overall feedback we have received has been very positive.
"I would like to thank our officers who have been involved in the policing of the city centre and the parade.
“I would also like to thank our partners, including Liverpool City Council, Culture Liverpool, LFC, British Transport Police, Merseytravel, Mersey Fire and Rescue Service, the North West Ambulance Service and St John Ambulance for the planning and effort they have put in to ensure the success of this event.
"And finally, I would also like to thank the public of Merseyside, and visitors to the city, who came to Liverpool and enjoyed a memorable day out."
