More vandalism in Southport's Kings Gardens

Another act of vandalism in Southport's Kings Gardens after a shopping cart and a traffic cone have been pushed down the steps that connect the footpath with the bridge.

This comes after a dispersal zone was put in place for the area over the weekend.

Community Inspector Graham Fisher said: “The incidents we have seen in Southport in the last two weeks simply will not be tolerated, and the introduction of this Dispersal Zone will give our officers extra powers to prevent further incidents form happening.

“We know the impact that anti-social behaviour can have on how safe people feel in their own community, and we will be targeting people we suspect of being involved in this type of behaviour in the area.

"The dispersal zone gives us powers to deal effectively with people and I would urge anyone in the area with any information about this type of anti-social behaviour to contact 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. You can also follow @MerpolNthSefton on Twitter and Facebook for updates and advice.”
