Mud rescue training for Southport Lifeboat Crew
On Thursday evening, our crew undertook mud rescue training.
Although scenic, the Sefton coast is riddled with potential dangers to beachgoers, such as soft sand and mud. Therefore, our crew need to be able to respond to a variety of coastal emergencies.
North of Southport Pier has vast areas of mud which have caught out countless visitors over the years. This is where our crew practiced casualty assessment and recovery.
