National Trust at Victoria Road Formby near Southport now open again

The team are delighted that the Victoria Road car park and toilets reopened on Saturday 5 February and look forward to welcoming you back.

Whilst popular areas nearest to the car park have been made safe, tree safety work continues in the woodlands. Please look out for signs and keep a safe distance.

We’re asking visitors to use the car park to access open spaces including the dunes and beach for now.

We’re sorry it’s taken a while. The ranger team have been working closely with specialist tree surgeons to make the site safe. Many hours have been dedicated to slowly and carefully felling hanging trees, removing unstable branches and clearing fallen trees blocking pathways.

The trees were damaged during #StormArwen at the end of November and #StormBarra at the start of December.

It’s been a big task with over 100 hectares of woodlands checked (that’s around the size of 120 football pitches) and 57 trees made safe.

Thank you for your support and understanding. The safety of visitors, volunteers and staff is a top priority for the team here at Formby’s nature haven.
