Parts of the Marine Lake in Southport have frozen over

Parts of the Marine Lake in Southport have frozen over as the bitterly cold weather continues.

After the tragedy in the midlands where four children fell through the ice on a lake and three of them have sadly died the dangers of going out onto thin ice are only too apparent.

As the cold weather is expected to continue all week don't take the risk of going out onto the ice.
