Person and dog rescued from ditch in woods close to Southport
A dog and its owner were rescued from a ditch by firefighters after getting into difficulty.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to Sniggery Wood, Little Crosby, on Friday 17th September.
Crews were alerted at 10.56am and on scene at 11.04am. Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue team.
On arrival crews found person trapped in a ditch within the woodland. It is believed they had gone into the ditch to rescue their dog, which had become trapped.
Both the dog and its owner were rescued from the ditch using a ladder. Both were unharmed.
Crews left the scene at 12.05pm.
