Plain Clothes Operation Successfully Recovers Stolen Goods in Southport

Good morning from the Southport Town Centre Team! A certain shoplifter wasn't singing in the rain yesterday morning. Officers conducted a plain clothes operation, focusing their attention on shoplifting, and the anti-social behaviour that comes as a by-product. Shop thefts create a massive problem for businesses, especially smaller businesses that are repeatedly targeted. We, as customers, then feel the effects as the prices of items rise!

The man, a 34 year old from Southport, was found in possession of the items shown, that were identified as stolen from a town centre shop. He will now be summonsed to court for the offence of shop theft.

The town centre team officers will be back out again today. Feel free to speak to officers you see out on foot patrol and raise any issues you want with them, so they can focus on the matters important to you.
