Police advice ahead of expected busy weekend in Southport

Good morning from Southport Police Station.

It's the beginning of a weekend of beautiful weather here in 'Sunny Southport' and that means the roads will soon be busy with people driving to the Sefton coastline. The weather will see some bikers bringing their bikes out for the first time this year, so be aware of the likelihood of more motorcycles on the roads. 

Bikers, if this is the first time your bike has left the shed/garage this year, pump those tyres up and take it easy. We want you to get to the carousel and home again safely. 

For families, If you bring young ones to the seafront and beaches, make sure you arrange a meeting point in case anyone gets lost and remember what clothing the children are wearing, in case we need to help look for them. 

Police Officers are already out in Southport this morning, with more neighbourhood Police Officers and PCSO's on duty later on.
