Police are appealing for information after a post office robbery.
We were called at about 3pm Tuesday, June 27when a female worker was leaving a pop-up post office at Marina Facilities in Rufford.

As she walked to her car two men in a black Kia Sportage arrived in the car park. The passenger got out of the car and threatened the staff member and members of the public with a crowbar before stealing a cashbox containing a significant quantity of cash and the post office worker’s handbag containing cash, keys and her mobile phone.

The offenders then made off in the Kia towards the A59. The vehicle was later recovered.
We are appealing for anyone with information including CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage to get in touch.

Det Sgt Lee Jamieson, of South CID, said: “This must have been a traumatic ordeal for the staff member, and it is fortunate she wasn’t hurt. I would appeal to anyone who has any information or footage to get in touch.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log 0923 of June 27. Alternatively contact independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
