Police arrest man in Bath Street , Southport

Officers from Merseyside Police were questioning a man in Bath Street Southport this morning at around 10.30. The man was in the rear of a police vehicle when he decided to make a run for it. He was quickly thrown to the floor and detained by officers.

Back up was called for and the man was arrested and taken away.

Witnesses at the scene thought the incident was drugs related but this has not been confirmed.
