Police arrest several people in Southport for a variety of crimes
A 34 year old Southport man was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday 26th October, by Officers on patrol in Birkdale. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference, after a member of the public reported seeing a man trying car door handles.
While in custody, the same man was further arrested on suspicion of a business burglary that also occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning and another offence of theft from motor vehicle that took place on 22nd September. He has since been bailed while further enquiries are made. An update will provided once investigations are complete.
Following concerns from local residents about drug dealing in the area of Meols Cop Road, Two men aged 50 and 46 were arrested by Southport Local Policing Team officers on Wednesday 20th October.
They were arrested on suspicion with intent to supply controlled drugs. A number of wraps of suspected class 'A' drugs were seized. The 50 year old was further arrested on suspicion of theft of a bike that he was using. Both men were released under investigation, while further enquiries were made.
A 50 year old man was arrested on Hawkshead Street on Tuesday the 26th October by Southport Local Policing Team officers, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.
A number of wraps of suspected class 'A' drugs were recovered in a search of the man. The man was released under investigation after first being taken to hospital in Aintree.
