Police called to Nevill Street incident

Officers from Merseyside Police were called to Nevill Street at approximately 2.00 this afternoon after an alteraction between a member of staff at Southport Rock and what appeared to be a homeless man. According to a witness a little bit of pushing and shoving took place and Police were called.

The old man then sat on the pavement outside the Chinese. After a discussion the police approached the old man who got up a walked towards Lord Street muttering to himself.

A shop owner opposite said what a waste of police time they could be catching burglars.
