Police car driven down Southport Pier

A very brave or foolish police officer drove his police car along the length of Southport Pier this afternoon (12 September)

The Pier is set to undergo a £3m restoration in the near future to replace the rotten timber decking all 56 miles of it.

The train that takes people up and down the Pier has stopped running recently due to the condition of the wooden planks.

Police were also driving around the Kings Gardens and Princes Park so they were obviously looking for someone.
