Local Policing Team Officers have been on the ground in Formby in support of the Dispersal Zone around the Duke Street Park area. This is in response to recent complaints of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage, including fireworks, bricks and eggs that have been aimed at passing vehicles.
Multiple dispersal order forms have been issued. Two teenaged boys were arrested on suspicion of public order offences and criminal damage. Officers put out a fire that had been started in the park in an attempt to set fire to a bench. At this time (8:15pm) patrols remain in the area and will continue to enforce the Dispersal Zone over the next 48 hours.
Parents, be mindful of where your children may be going at night and who they will be with. You can play a part in reducing these issues and avoid a visit from officers bringing your child home.
