Police enforce another dispersal zone in Southport this weekend

There is a dispersal zone in place in Southport town centre and seafront today, Friday 5th November 2021 starting at 4:00pm  and lasting until 3:59pm on Sunday 7th November. Within this area, police officers or PCSO's have the power (under certain circumstances) to:

• Require anyone to leave the area and prevent them from returning for up to 48 hours.

• Require a person to surrender items that can be used to cause anti-social behaviour.

• Send under 16s home or to a place of safety.

• Arrest anyone who ignores the instruction.
