Police highlight services available in Southport

Continuing with some posts to highlight the various services available in Southport, which are available all year round, but may be even more important at this time of year.
Compassion Acts, based at the Victoria Centre at Sussex Road are the local coordinators for Trussell Trust foodbanks in the Southport area, but also aim to offer support in other ways too. Among their support projects are:
• the ‘Food Pantry’ (for more long-term food support needs)
• Welfare Advice
• Debt Advice
• Social wellbeing
• Uniform hub (Located in Cambridge Walks)
Get emergency help with food access.
Compassion Acts is the charity that operates Southport Foodbank and these currently run from 6 distribution centres around Southport (see below). Foodbank is designed to help people who are at ‘crisis point’ and need emergency access to food. Bags are prepacked and provide around 3 days’ worth of food, mostly containing long-life items. Compassion Acts adhere to Trussell-Trust guidelines of what to include in our food parcels, this ensures that every one remains consistent.
