Police in Southport out on patrol on Saturday evening
Police in Southport issued a short statement on Facebook after recent comments that there are no police in Southport
9:15 PM Saturday 26th and Southport Neighbourhood Officers are leaving Southport Police Station to police the pubs, bars and restaurants of the night time economy in Southport town centre, until the early hours of the morning.
People took to Facebook to comment.
Sounds like an inconvenience, we will just sit in the station instead and wait until the crime commences.
Quite the opposite. Police patrols respond to incidents from where they happen to be, not from police stations.
