Police in Southport return stolen bikes to their owners

Some good news about two bike thefts in the last 24 hours.

Two bikes were stolen from the garage of a house in Ainsdale overnight last night. One of the bikes was found in  a nearby road by a member of the public and collected by a Southport Neighbourhood Police Officer. We were able to match the found bike up as one stolen from the garage and it has since been returned to the owner. Investigations continue for the second bike.

Another bike was stolen from Queens Road in Southport this afternoon (Wednesday 6th April). It was later found in Skelmersdale by Lancashire County Police Officers who have since returned it to its owner.

Please remember to secure bikes, even when in sheds or garages. The more difficult you make it to move your bike, the less likely you are to become a victim of this type of crime.  And don't forget to make a note of the frame number of any bikes. These can be registered for free on the national bike database at https://orlo.uk/LBKuP
