Police in Southport to document all the work they do in the area
Following last year's Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, the National Police Chiefs Council have announced another one for later this month.
So, between 23rd and 29th January, instead of the sporadic posts we write, each day we will document all the work that Neighbourhood Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSO's) have done on the previous day's shifts, from the North Sefton Neighbourhood Team at Southport Police Station.
Everything from maps of foot patrols like the one below from today to, stop checks, fixed penalties, arrests, crime scene management and everything else we get involved in during that week in particular. The Week Of Action aims to illustrate the work Neighbourhood Policing Teams do every day, but that we don't shout about enough.
We will start on 23rd with a full explanation of how Neighbourhood Teams are made up and what their focus is.
The map below shows the 7.5 mile area covered this morning (Thursday 5th January) by one of our PCSO's on solo foot patrol, taking in visits to off licences/convenience stores, a follow up visit to a victim of theft of a car, which was found and recovered by Neighbourhood Officers, a check on a vehicle reported to the Council for removal and waiting for a car seized for having no insurance. to be collected.
More like this, that we do every day, from all around the area we cover over the week of action.
