Police incident Eastbank Street Southport. Man arrested

Just after 2.00 pm today (June 11th) Southport town centre resembled a scene from the Sweeney as up to 6 police cars sirens blaring and blue lights flashing raced around the streets. Police eventually stopped on Eastbank Street and appeared to box in a vehicle.

An unmarked police vehicle turned up and a male who looked to be in his 20's was placed in the rear of the car. Police at the scene refused to comment on the incident. The PR department has been approached for information.
