Police offer reassurance after Churchtown stabbing incident

We’re aware that people are concerned and worried following an incident in Churchtown on Monday night where a women suffered a leg injury.

We’d like to reassure you that we are investigating the full circumstances to understand what exactly happened.

What we can tell you right now is that a woman aged in her 30s needed medical attention after sustaining a puncture wound to her leg.

We believe the injury occurred on Botanic Road at around 9.20pm and she was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

No-one else was injured and we’re keeping an open mind as to what led to the woman being injured.
