Police raid property in Wright Street in Southport

Police have raided a property in Wright Street in Southport this morning. They were called by a security guard from Boots who followed a female to the property after suspecting her of shoplifting.

The woman has apparently locked herself in her flat and is refusing to come out.

According to local people the woman is well known for causing trouble in the town centre.

Officers remain at the scene.
